Character & word counter

Counts characters with and without spaces, words, sentences, paragraphs and lines, updating on every keystroke. Useful whenever a field has a hard limit — a meta description, a tweet, a database column, an SMS.

Character counting uses grapheme segmentation where the browser supports it, so an emoji or an accented character built from combining marks counts as one character rather than several — which is how a person counts, even if it is not how a naive length check does.
